Follow for the Right Reasons.

Today’s Reading:

John 1:35-52
Today we shall study about how the Ministry team of Jesus grew.However,  one thing is important to emphasise that our lord Jesus Christ is not interested in people following Him. He wants us to follow for the right reasons.

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? (John 1:38 King James Version, KJV)

His first question when he saw Andrew following was “what are you seeking?” Then he later taught them what they must seek; the kingdom of God and His right ways of doing things. (Matthew 6: 33)

When we follow God for the right reasons He adds unto us all other things.What are the right reasons?  To rise and raise others who can influence the city and witness mighty miracles in our own lives.

When our Lord Jesus started the church, He was alone, then Andrew came and when he was blessed, he brought Simon Peter. Then the following day, Jesus found Philip; when Phillip was blessed, he also brought Nathaniel.

All the people that came through personal witnessing became apostles. Most the people that came because of the glory and miracles remained only as a crowd.

Today’s Prayer

Almighty Father, please help me to build genuine convictions in You and in my calling. Give me the same authentic faith in my pastor as You gave to these Your apostles, so that I can have a heart of a true follower, in Jesus’ name.
