“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (John 15:16 KJV)
There is one fundamental thing that God expects of us; and we expect it of ourselves too; fruits and success. Every person wants to see progress and fruits in the things they do. We want to excel and bring forth fruits. Indeed all things being equal, when a viable seed is put in the ground, it must grow and bear fruits.
Today we shall be discussing 5 things that can stifle the fruitfulness and success of even a viable seed. These are the things you must deal with if you want fruits. These are the things that fight success in life. The five things are;
The environment in which you are planted:
Environment is very important; the Scriptures tell us that a sower went out to sow seed. He sowed the same seeds but they brought forth different margins of fruitfulness because of the difference in the soils which received them. Where you are planted determines the extent of your fruitfulness and success. So don’t take your environment for granted.
The company you keep:
The company you keep will determine what will accompany you. The friend of a harlot is a great waste; those who keep company with an angry man learn of his ways and are destroyed. The Bible tells us to come out from among them that we shall be His people and He shall be our God (2 Corinthians 6:16-18).
Your attitude towards your core business:
Every man has a purpose and an assignment which he is called to fulfill. Your fruitfulness is determined by your attitude towards your core business. There are certain things that are primary to our calling and destiny; we must have a positive attitude towards this core business. As a pastor, my core business is to pray and minister the word. My fruitfulness and success in ministry will largely depend on my attitude towards these elements of my life.
Your connectedness and partnership with divinity:
Without me you can do nothing.
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5 KJV)
Your connectedness and partnership with divinity is important for fruit bearing. If we disconnected, we will wither and dry up. If we disconnect, we would not just be fruitless but we will wither and dry up. It is God who gives the increase. It is God who blesses. You must stay connected to enjoy the fatness and roots (See Roman 11:17).
How well you resist the gates of hell:
God is committed to build us up in such a way that the gates of hell cannot prevail against us; but we must resist steadfastly to the end.
Stay blessed; I love you!
Today’s Prayer
Dear Father
I pray that You shall help me to engage with these five keys to advance my fruitfulness and success. Give me the strength to break the power of darkness over my life.
Amen!
