[2 Corinthians 13:14 NLT] “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
I want to speak about benediction. The most famous blessings of the New Testament church. In thinking about the benediction, three main blessings come to mind;
- The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ
- The Love of God
- The Fellowship or communion of the Holy Spirit
These are the three blessings that all of us should crave and strive to have a daily dose of. We must hunger and strive to touch these blessings daily. It is also important to understand what these phrases mean; what is the meaning of the grace of Jesus Christ? What is the love of God being with someone? What does it mean to have the communion of the Spirit?
We should desire that as we step out in faith, we shall receive every blessing that the grace of our Lord Jesus supplies. We know that Jesus was rich but became poor that we through His poverty shall become rich. Riches is one of the things that grace supplies. We must crave the grace and benefits of grace!
We must trust God that we shall also receive the things that His love supplies. His love supplies favour, chastening, and eternal gifts.
Finally, we must desire that the Holy Spirit of God shall continue to speak and commune with us. We must desire to hear His voice and to feel His leading. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and guide. We must be open to His communications and leading.
