[Matthew 14:28-32 KJV] “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased”.
Today I will be teaching on salvation. Salvation comes from a Greek word Sozo, which means to save, to heal, to deliver, and even to protect. How shall I be saved from the strong winds of life that seeks to drown me. How can I be saved from the strong winds of life; whether they are indebtedness, sickness, broken heartedness, conflict, or accusation?
You may be walking in the word. You may even have stepped out because the Lord bid you come, but the winds and storms of life may be against you. How do you find salvation from the contrary winds of life?
Romans 10:13 teaches that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Admit that you are sinking and drowning:
Peter admitted that he was sinking. He did not make excuses. He admitted that he was sinking.
Believe that Jesus Christ is able to save you:
Peter was saved because he believed that Jesus Christ is able to save him from the storms. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is able to save you from the storms and tides which are against you?.
Call out to him: call upon His name. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Whosoever! If the thief that hanged on the cross was saved by simply asking, then you can also find salvation as you call upon the Lord. So stand up on your feet and call upon the name of the Lord. “The Lord is mighty to save” and He will save to the utter if only we call on Him. He saved the following people in Scripture;
- Paul and Silas from prison when they prayed and praised at midnight.
- Esther and Israel when they fasted for 3 days to avert the callous plot of Heman.
- Nineveh when they repented and prayed and fasted after Jonah preached in their city.
The Lord will save you. Just call on Him. “The word is in your mouth and nigh thee. The word of faith which we preach” (See Romans 10:6). “He is faithful and just to forgive and restore if only we can call on him”; at least on His name (See 1 John 1:9)
Be blessed, I love you!
