I want to speak to you today about afflictions and why you should not lose your peace because of afflictions. I perfectly understand how it feels like to face afflictions and go through the mill; I know it is not easy. I know it is challenging but when you understand these things, you will go very far even in difficult times.
1. Remember that a man, born of a woman, is of a few days and full of afflictions:
This is one truth that must sink into your heart and mind. You must understand that a man born of a woman is of few days, and full of affliction, but those born of God overcomes the world. If you are born of God, you will overcome and escape unhurt though you may go through afflictions. Trouble may come but won’t last anyway. Don’t get surprised when you have to face a difficult season; it’s called life.
2. Remember to be patient in afflictions:
The Bible teaches that those who are patient in affliction, come out blessed. Afflictions or trouble can make people make silly decisions, but those who are patient escape the trap of folly or haste. Blessed is the man that endures temptation or affliction. I see you coming out blessed!
3. Remember to spend time in prayer:
The Apostle James teaches that if any man is afflicted, he should pray. Prayer and fasting are the two top secrets to stay buoyant in affliction. Prayer will keep you afloat and above trials. Prayer will reveal the deeper purpose of God and you shall not regret praying.
I do not doubt in my mind that you shall soar above every storm and come out stronger.
