[Luke 18:28-30 KJV] “Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.“
I want to speak to you today on the mystery of wealth creation. We have already studied on the mystery of sacrifices that move heaven; then the mystery of supernatural supply; I have also taught on the catalyst of wealth creation; now I want to enlighten you on the mystery of wealth creation for kingdom advancement.
Inasmuch as we have a promise that because we have forsaken somethings for the sake of the kingdom; we shall recieve manifold more in both this life and the world to come, we must be careful not to do the following;
1. DON’T be decieve to think that gain is godliness;
“perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
“And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows”. (1 Timothy 6:5-10 KJV)
2. DON’T labour to be rich:
There are two reasons for this;
- Riches are not certain
- Those who have a desire or quest to be rich fall into a snare and temptation and pierce themselves through with many foolish and hurtful lust
“Labour not to be rich: Cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away as an eagle toward heaven.” (Proverbs 23:4-5 KJV)
3. DON’T labour to be rich but remember a workman is worthy of his wages:
“And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.” (Luke 10:7 KJV)
4. DON’T lay up treasure for yourself in the place where moth and thieves can destroy; remember we are creating wealth for kingdom advancement
There are two main dangers in amassing wealth for a grandiose lust;
- You will miss heaven, because where your treasure is there your heart will be.
- A man’s life does not consist of abundance of things he has.
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21 KJV)
“And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” (Luke 12:15 KJV)
Stay blessed and escape this pitfalls!
