I want to speak about the early morning routines that a modern man should keep. I am talking about early morning because the men whose lives inspire us to believe and follow God were morning men. They were men that kept the early morning routines.
The Lord taught them many lessons morning by morning. The prophet shared how the Lord woke him up morning by morning to teach his tongue how to speak.
The morning is the womb of time. The morning is always pregnant with many possibilities and getting set before sunrise gives you an edge.
Isaiah 50:4 KJV — “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.“
The psalmist teaches that he will rise early and seek the Lord. It’s better to seek the Lord while it’s morning.
Psalm 63:1 KJV — “O God, thou art My God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;”
The modern must be committed to the routine of
Waking up before sunrise.
Except you are a shift worker, or work deep into the night, build a routine of waking up before sunrise, latest by 5am. The nature of modern cities are such that not waking early will work against you. Commuters in many cities must beat rush hour traffic. Rising early before sunrise will really help.
Read your Bible and pray, first thing in the morning.
The Bible is our compass to navigate these dangerous waters called life; and pray is a means to fellowship with God, our source of life and strength; to draw strength from the Lord: to sharpen our senses to hear his voices.
Exercise your body and stay active
The nature of lives and vocation require that you must consciously decide to stay active and get some early sunlight for the absorption of Vitamin D. Stay active keeps you alive, be active.
Bath, groom, and dress up before sunrise
Dress for the occasion, every occasion, because people see who you are before what you have to say or can do. Live ready, rather than get ready.
You are a modern man and you can’t slack. There are bills to paid and responsibilities to meet.
