I want to exhort you on 4 things the Lord taught about prayer.
[Matthew 6:9-13 KJV] “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. [11] Give us this day our daily bread. [12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
These may not be easily seen by casually browsing through the Scriptures but they are there;
1. Prayer must be relational:
The Lord taught that our prayer must be directed to our Father in Heaven. When we come into prayer, we must relate with God just like children relate to their fathers. So your prayer must always be devotional and relational.
2. Prayer must be daily:
Prayer must be a daily practice. Prayer must not be occasional, it must be routine and daily. He said we should ask for our daily bread and not an annual supply. Prayer must be daily, not occasional.
3. Prayer request must be specific and definite:
Prayer must be specific. You see that in the Lord’s model prayer, every request is definite and straight to the point. Your prayers must be definite and specific.
4. Prayer must demonstrate submission to God:
Every great prayer giant is humble and submitted to God. You must recognise that the power and the glory and the kingdom belong to God.
These are 4 simple things the Lord taught about prayer. Stay blessed.
I love you!
