Acts 6:1-7 KJV — And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. [2] Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
[3] Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. [4] But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
[5] And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
[6] whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. [7] And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
Every church must move from crawling to flying. Here are four things that will grow any church anywhere:
- Engage in spiritual warfare to deal with the gates of hell, that has risen against the church.
- Go out and tell the people to come and see what Jesus is doing among us
- Teach the believers how to walk in the way, the truth, and the life! Engage in teaching truths that are applicable to normal life.
- Build the things that are lacking to sustain the growth (See Acts 6:1-10)
Let us hit the ground running with prayer, evangelism, fellowship, work, and family time. We have work to do for the kingdom and we must arise and work.
The HighCity church is working and must work again. We are praying that God will bless us with sustainable resources and tangible power! God is repairing the faulty foundations and removing the sceptre of the wicked from the land allotted to the righteous!
The Bible says if the foundation is destroyed, what will the righteous do? We ought to lay a solid foundation that will stand the test of time and the test of storms. There is no such foundation except that which is built on obedience to the word of God. The man that hears the word of the Lord and obeys is like a man that built his house upon the rock. The storms will beat and the floods will come but the house will keep standing (See Matthew 7:24-25).
May the Lord give us the grace for ministry, work, and network (family).
Today’s Prayer
We are praying that God will help us to find spirit-filled, faith-filled, wise, able men and women of integrity to appoint over the business of the church. Every one of our churches needs pastors, elders, and teams to carry on the business of the kingdom (See Acts 13:1-14:28).
Pray that the Lord will send labourers into the vineyard! Pray that God will raise financial pillars to build a modern church! Pray that God will raise from among us loyal and blessed men and women to serve.
The work in Accra must advance, the work in Kumasi must advance, the work in Nairobi must advance, the work in Uganda must advance. We pray for rural Africa and inner city missions!
May the Lord be gracious towards us as we embark on the Capital Cities Churches missions. May the Lord send resources and anoint us with tangible power! Pray for grace and pray for anointing!
Stay blessed
