The world has become so competitive that there are many people aspiring to occupy the few vacancies available. There is the need to strategically position yourself to have a competitive advantage in this race of time. Five of the key things that prepare you for success in every area of life are:
Certification in an area of competence
Don’t let anyone lie to you that a degree or diploma or certificate is not important. Most often than not people will give you the first chance when you hold a certificate of competence in an area from an accredited institution of learning. Your degree or diploma is only an introduction letter, but what really employs you is your skills.
Employable skills
Beyond a degree or diploma however, you must strive to get some employable skills. You must be able to demonstrate some level of competence on the job. You must be able to show that you are competent in some senses and areas. Unfortunately however, there are many people who are skilled but have a poor attitude towards life and other people. Attitude is like tyres under a car, a bad one cannot take you anywhere
The right attitudes and perspectives in life
Beyond being educated and skilled, your attitude matters a lot. Many people have lost great opportunity because of a poor attitude they did not fix. May the Lord help us to develop character.
The grace of God
The fourth thing that will give you competitive advantage is the grace of God. This unmerited favour will set you apart and help you to win big. Where grace will take you in 10 days, no amount of skill can in 10 years! Grace is important and must not be taken for granted. The greater the grace you perceive on your life the greater the effort you must put in.
Other people’s power
Finally, remember someone knows someone you need. When you develop a good interpersonal relationship with others, you leverage on their connections and many graces. People are powerful, and they can connect you to both people and places.
