The Bible teaches that our abundance must supply the needs of others. The Bible says when the clouds are full, they empty themselves upon the earth. Furthermore, when trees fall, thy lie wherever they fall. I believe with all my heart that from today, we shall be careful to give to the seven and withhold not from the eighth.
[Ecclesiastes 11:1-4 KJV] “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap”.
There are certain classes of people you can give to in and get maximum results. You will not miss the opportunity to give and minster your substance, Amen!
1. Ceasar:
The Lord taught us to give to Caeser what belongs to Caeser. There are certain things that belong to the state and other secular authorities, like your taxes, polls, and tolls. We must give to the state what belongs to the state.
2. The Lord:
We must also give to Christ what belongs to Christ. There are certain things that belong to Christ; like our tithes, offerings, seeds, our time and strength. Learn to give to the Lord.
[Matthew 22:17-21 KJV] “Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s”.
3. The Church:
The Bible encourages us to bring the tithes and offerings to His house that there may be food. He exhorts us to give to the church. Whenever you are coming to church, you need to prepare an offering.
[Malachi 3:10 KJV] “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.
4. Those who feed you with spiritual things:
If we feed you with spiritual things, it is not a big deal if you share with us your material things. God expects you to give back to those who feed you with spiritual things.
[1 Corinthians 9:10-12 KJV] “Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ”.
5. The poor and needy, the sick, prisoners and strangers:
God expects you to give to the poor, cloth the naked, visit the prisoners, and the sick. God wants us to give to these classes of people. God wants you to walk in the grace of giving.
6. Those who cannot give back to you:
You must also learn to give to people who cannot give back to you. Many Christians are tempted to give only to people they can receive sometime back from, but we want to break that unhealthy cycle. The most spiritual giving is to give to people who cannot give back to you. I pray that God will use you to give to many.
7. People who belong to the household of God:
The word of God encourages us to do good especially to those who belong to the household of God. These are special people that we must care about.
Be led by the Holy Spirit, and you shall not miss your season to give and minister your substance. The Lord will give you grace.
