And the Lord spake unto me, saying,  Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.  And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: (Deuteronomy 2:2-4 KJV)

The key to breaking fruitless routines to advance is overhauling – to thoroughly examine your system, and make repairs and changes where necessary.

There are four areas in your life that must be examined carefully and repaired where necessary:

1. Mind-set
2. Strategy
3. Tactics
4. Prayer life

1. Mind-set:

This is the most important thing. Many of us are not limited by devils, we are limited by our mind-sets. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Everything as a matter of fact starts from the mind.

The first aspect of your life that must receive the touch of grace and power is your mind-set and thought patterns. Every one of us must deliberately decide to give up childish things to embrace the new understanding (1 Corinthians 13:11).

It’s time to engage the weapons of war which are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds and imaginations and thoughts that tries to exalt itself above the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

2. Strategy:

This is the overall principles that governs your pursuits. This is different from the steps you take to achieve a goal. We say you have a good strategy when you understand your target group and craftily design systems that can take care of their needs and expectations.

Putting this another way, a good strategy is arrived at, when you understand the demands of a task and you design a good system to get it accomplished.

3. Tactics:

It is the step by step design to get the job done or to get a target group’s expectations met. This in a sense are the little things that you need to do to arrive at your goal. These must critically be examined and improved to deliver greater results.

     4. Prayer life:

This is the fourth dimension of your life which must be looked at. If you commit your ways to the Lord, he would establish your goings (Psalm 37:5).

As you step out into the next year, you shall not waste any of the 365 days of your life in Jesus’ name! You must determine to step out in faith and completely overhaul your system for greater results.
