Love you can enjoy must be rooted in the principles of greater love of Christ.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:25-27 KJV)

Contrary to the popular notion that there are four kinds of love and what we feel towards different people is different, I believe that love you can enjoy must be founded upon the ideals of the greater love of God.
The old school have taught us that there several kinds of love: phileo, agape, erros; I believe that in the letter and spirit of the reading for today’s devotional, the love you can enjoy must be built in the ideals of the Christ kind of love.
Husbands are exhorted to love their wives as Christ loved the church. A man that can truly love you must have experienced the love of Christ fully.
I have not found in any place a Scripture that suggest that a man or husband must have erotic love for his wife before they marry. The foundation to any lasting and intimate love is in the husband loving as Christ loved the church; and the woman submitting as the church submits to Christ.
Lust must not be misconstrued to mean love you can enjoy. Jesus Christ loves the church but does not have sex with the church. Sex is a little benefit that comes with marriage and must not be the main reason for choosing a particular suitor.
The three important questions that a man must ask before settling down for a particular woman is:
- Can I die for her as Christ died for the church? Am I dying for her daily as Christ dies for the church, or I am just dying to have sex with her?
- Can I wash her with the water of the word of God? I am washing her with the water of the word of God?
- Am I willing to present her to myself as a glorious woman? Does she look glorious in my eyes?
The sisters should also rephrase the questions and answers.
- Will this guy die for me as Chris died for the church or is he just dying to have sex with me?
- Does this guy know enough word of God to wash me with the water thereof? Will this guy wash me daily with the water of the word of God or he will criticise and condemn me when I go wrong?
- Will this guy willingly and joyfully present me to himself as a glorious wife or he will dishonour me?
Love you can enjoy must affirm these conditions beyond reasonable doubt.
May the Lord bless you with love you can enjoy pretty soon.
Stay blessed, I love you!

The Bible has spoken, Bishop has rightly explained it. I have also read and I think I understand now that, I should be will and ready to love my wife just as Christ did love the church.

Indeed sex is just a little benefit in marriage which you don’t even need everyday. But with love you need it every minute of your life to carry on in marriage. May we continue to enjoy love in Jesus name . Love you Rev.
Lord I repent and remain permanently repentant in Jesus’ name!
