The Bible is exhorting us to praise the Lord; to extol Him with a new song, and to sing of His praise in the congregation of saints.
[Psalm 149:1-9 KJV] “Praise ye the Lord . Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. [2] Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. [3] Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. [4] For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
[5] Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. [6] Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; [7] To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; [8] To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; [9] To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord”.
The Lord wants us to praise Him with singing, a dance, and musical instruments. Wherever we are, we must praise the Lord with singing, and dancing, and playing skillfully on instruments.
The Lord wants us to sing aloud and take hold of the word. The Lord wants us to hold praise in one hand and the word in another.
The Lord wants us to praise Him in the congregation of His saints and also upon our beds. Praise Him in public and in private. Let us praise the Lord for He is good and His mercies endure forever.
The results of praise will always beat our imagination. Praise does wonders. Murmuring brings fiery serpents to devour but praise brings deliverance from demonic hosts. When we learn to praise, victory is assured.
How did I know that praise brings victory over demonic host?
1. Jehoshaphat won victory over Assyria:
Do you remember how God instructed Jehoshaphat to put the singers first?. I may not be able to say for a fact that praise brings judgment upon the wicked, but I see the wonders of praise every day. May the Lord empower you to praise and maintain a sweet spirit.
In this season, as you write exams, as you face the banks, as you face the court case, in this season of many battles, your praise will make a way and bring victory. You will win when you learn to praise God.
The Bible did not say that you should praise and sleep. You must prepare for war, but let the praises go ahead of the fighting men. Prepare for the negotiations, but let the praise start. Keith Green said, “when God hears the praises start…” Come on, He will show up. So, prepare the fighting men.
Get all your evidence and documents ready for court, but let the praises start at home. Praise when there is no reason to praise, for God is working behind the scenes.
2. Jericho came down by praise and a shout:
We see how the walls of Jericho came down. They marched and shouted and sounded the trumpet in obedience to the Lord. Their faith in God’s word did the victory. The praise was the weapon but the secret is obedience to the word of God. Obedience, the Bible says, is better than sacrifice, and to hearken is better than the fat of rams.
We shall not slack or complain, we shall arise and sing and shout and dance. We will shake the opposing walls by our praise and shout. We shall not be intimidated nor bullied, praise will disarm the enemy. Your praise is your weapon. Don’t lose your praise. Don’t lose your voice. Shout and sing. Glory! Glory? Yes! Glory! The church shall shout again. Hosanna! God will show up to save His own.
3. Prison gates swung open:
Nothing can imprison a “praiser”. The gates are giving way now! We know how Paul and Silas sang and prayed, and the other prisoners heard them. We know how they regained their freedom by praise. The praise and singing shook the foundations of the prison open. By your praise, you are coming out too.
4. Prophets prophesy better in the midst of praise:
When Saul met the company of prophets, they were prophesying with singing and playing instruments. The prophet Elisha requested for a minstrel. Music and singing and dancing and playing have a way of invoking spirits.
[2 Kings 3:14-16 KJV] “And Elisha said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee. [15] But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. [16] And he said, Thus saith the Lord , Make this valley full of ditches”.
I don’t know what you may be going through, but praise does wonders. There is a power in praising God and we must all try to tap into that power.
If the walls of Jericho came tumbling down because of praise, then your sickness, indebtedness, chains, and challenges shall fall flat this week.
If Jehoshaphat won victory over the massive enemy army that encamped against Israel, then no enemy in this season of praise shall be able to stand before you.
If angry prophets could prophesy when the minstrel began to sing; then every praise gate that holds you shall give way. You will walk out a freeman from this moment forward in the name of Jesus Christ. You shall walk on the wings of praise. The Lord shall deliver you and all that concerns you. You shall walk in dominion. Change is coming. We shall bind kings with chains, and nobles with fetters of iron. You shall execute vengeance upon the nations and heathen. May the Lord establish your authority and dominion from today. There are authority and wonders in praise. May you win and never fail as you learn to exercise yourself in praises. Stay blessed!
I love you;
Noah Simpe Bediako.
