[Luke 16:10-12 KJV] “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. [11] If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? [12] And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?”
Discussion
The simple secret to ownership and possession is being faithful in that which is another man’s. The Lord wants us to be faithful in that which belongs to another man.
You can be faithful in that which is another man’s when you can do the following;
1. Allow someone else to rule over you:
In Gospels, some fellows said, “we shall not have this man rule over us” (See Matthew 25)
2. Honestly acknowledge what another person has contributed to your life;
The man who hid his talent refused to acknowledge what his master has put into his life.
3. Don’t act on unsubstantiated suspicions and perceptions;
In the story of the talents, the one who hid his talent did so because he held a false opinion about his lord. He said, “I know you, that you reap where you have not sown”. Obviously that was not true, but that was the opinion he held.
3. Acknowledge that whatever others put into you could have yielded dividends if they had put it elsewhere!
However, the master, retorted, “if you knew I was a hard man who will reap where I have not sown, you could have put my money to usury”. There is always something that the others lost to be able to invest in you.
The truth remains that he that is faithful in that which is another man’s shall be trusted with his own.
Stay blessed; I love you!
