[James 5:13 KJV] “Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms”.
We know that prayer is the biblical recommendation for solving life’s complex challenges. Without prayer, there will be nowhere to turn.
I want to speak to you today about Tuesday Gethesemene Hour.
You know, Gethsemane is the place where men pray with strong crying and tears unto the God who is able to save their souls from destruction. The Bible tells us that the Lord Jesus Christ, in His moments of pain, affliction and sorrow, cried out to Him that is able to save His soul from destruction. As we gather at Gethsemane, we have come to pray with strong cries and tears unto him who can save us from destruction.
[Hebrews 5:1-10 KJV] “For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
“And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec”.
We are here to P.U.S.H! We are here to pray until something happens. The Lord prayed in Gethsemane until He broke through in prayer. He prayed, and prayed, and prayed. If the Lord Jesus Christ prayed until something happened, we can do no less.
We have come to offer prayers with strong crying and tears. We have come to offer travailing prayers with fear. We have come to seek Him that is able to save. We shall be saved! Although Christ is a Son, He learned obedience through the many things He suffered. In His suffering, prayer was His solution. He prayed as a solution. We have also come to pray until there is an answer. There must be an answer somewhere to life’s complex challenges.
Prayer that gets answers must be;
Vocal and relevant.
The Lord teaches that we should avoid vain repetition in prayer. Through words and crying, you must strive to make your request known unto God.
By faith and through faith.
Prayer that gets answers must be by faith and through faith. No matter how much I intercede for you, you can only receive what you are believing for. God will not impose His will on any man, nor impose the will of another man on any other; until you show what you are believing for, you will not receive anything. In the Garden of Gethsemane, the Lord Jesus had to hand over His will to the Father before the Father could act. When Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, the Lord asked what he wanted. You must show your faith to receive answers.
Birth from the soul, from the deep wells.
You prayer must be accompanied by supplication and strong cries, importunity, and fervency. I suggest that you arise to pray and to cry out to God. Prayer works and it works when properly executed. I pray that your prayer shall touch Heaven and get answers. This shall be unto us the Gethsemane hour. A place of prayer.
You shall not be drowned in pain and sorrow. You shall see the hand of the Lord and you shall win over complex challenges.
Be blessed, I love you!
