[1 John 5:4-5 KJV] “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
I want to exhort you today on seven habits for victorious living. The Bible tells us that “whosoever is born of God overcomes the world”. Which clearly suggest that those born of God are not part of the world. This is because you cannot overcome something you are part of. He that is born of God is not part of the world. By the world, I mean the complete systems and structures of the world; the fauna, flora, animals, beast and everything that make up the world. So then whosoever is born of God; whosoever believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God overcomes the world.
You are born of God and must overcome the world. You believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and you must overcome the world. So, what are the habits that lead to victorious living? The truth is, you are your habits. Many of us have failed or may fail because we have formed very poor habits. Many of us wake up in the morning and the first thing on our minds is social media and chat apps. Many of us literally spend all our time on chat apps and social media. Our habits are so sick that we have a sick life. The following helpful habits can change your life forever;
1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart:
I exhort you to trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Don’t lean on your own understanding! In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. Nothing compares to forming the habit of staying positive. You must trust God at all times. Let Him know that you believe Him. You trust in the Lord by trusting in His word. You focus your thoughts on Him. Meditate on His word and think about Him day and night. (See Psalm 63: 6-8)
2. Call upon the Lord at all times:
The second habit that will help you to live a victorious life is prayer. You must pray without ceasing. From Mark 1:35, we know that our Lord had a life of prayer. In fact, prayer was His habit, He prayed and prayed and prayed.
[Mark 1:35 KJV] “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed”.
3. Listen to the Word of God:
We know that those who listen and read from God are healed and empowered.
[Exodus 15:26 KJV] “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
In Ezekiel 2:2, we must understand that as we listen, we get filled with virtue.
[Ezekiel 2:2 KJV] “And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.”
John 6:63 teaches that the words spoken by the Lord are life and spirit. As you listen you receive the anointing and miracles.
[John 6:63 KJV] “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
[Galatians 3:5 KJV] “He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”
4. Obey:
It is one thing to hear the word but another thing to obey it. One key secret to victorious living is obedience. Deuteronomy 28:1-3 promises a good life to those who obey.
[Deuteronomy 28:1-3 KJV] “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: [2] And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. [3] Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.”
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 5:11-12 that those who obey the word train their senses to discern the right way to go.
[Hebrews 5:11-12 KJV] “Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. [12] For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.”
5. Fellowship:
Do you really want to live a victorious life? Then fellowship! Fellowship with the Holy Spirit and also with the brethren. Fellowshipping is one of the key contributors to living a victorious life.
6. Give and forgive:
Giving and forgiving are important in determining how well you will live. It is important to give but more importantly is to forgive. Give and it will come back to you a good measure, pressed down shaken together shall God cause me to give unto you.
7. Testify:
The final key I want to talk about is the need to testify. You must testify in word, in songs, and indeed. This is the secret to remain grateful. We must find daily opportunities to testify of the Lord’s goodness.
I pray that you will be guided by these seven keys to living a victorious life.
Be blessed, form new habits. I love you!
