Many people find the Christian walk boring because they answered the call to a leisure walk and not to do the work of ministry.
[Acts 9:6 KJV] “And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do”.
The truth is God has not called us to a leisure walk but to partake of the banquet of life and to call others to the same.
[Matthew 20:16 KJV] “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen”.
[Matthew 22:14 KJV] “For many are called, but few are chosen”.
When the Lord confronted Saul in his tracks, he (Apostle Paul) asked the most intelligent question anyone could ask: “What would you have me do?” The Apostle Paul knew that every call has a purpose which must be fulfilled. He wanted to know what this disruption to his life was all about. We must strive to understand our calling and obey it.
Now, the following are five key things that the Lord wants you to do to:
“The work of God is to believe on Him whom he has sent”. From time to time God sends people to us; it behoves on us to receive and believe the gospel as it is preached by these people. I dream of the day when thousands, if not millions, will stand up and say we also believe. Believing the gospel is the first step in obeying the calling.
The second step to answering the Christian calling is to join the mission. We must all serve in the house of the Lord. We have a reason for being and existing; it is to take the good news to the ends of the world. Join the mission and let us advance this cause.
Thirdly, invite and bring a friend to church and to Jesus. You are the best person to reach your friends. For instance, you can encourage them to listen to our podcasts and to visit some of our services.
You must strive to connect with a fold, a support group, or a home cell. I pray that you will connect with the right kind of people and groups.
Finally, give and give ‘generously’. God loves a cheerful giver. I pray that you will be able to give as God gives you the grace.
I love you!
