I want to exhort you on 7 things you should trust God to do in your life and commit to prayer.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. [Matthew 6:9-13 KJV]
There are certain things that you may be able to do but certain things can never be done except by total dependence on God as His child. Below are the 7 things;
1. The hallowing of the name of the Lord;
We must crave for and commit this to prayer. The name of the Lord must be hallowed, blessed, glorified and honoured in our lives. This is one desire that we must hold above every other desire. We must strive to continue in the way, that the name of the Lord shall be honoured by all who encounter us.
2. The coming of the kingdom of God:
Only God can send His kingdom to us and establish it. None of us can establish the kingdom of God here. Until the Lord sends His kingdom, none of us can stir or establish it. We must, therefore, pray that the kingdom of God will be established in the earth.
3. The will of God being done on earth as in Heaven:
In Acts 13:36, we are taught that David served his generation by the will of God. We understand that it is not just a matter of serving but serving according to the will of God. We must pray that the will of God will be done in our lives, marriages, and homes as it is in heaven. This is something that can happen only through the help of God. We should trust that the doors of many nations and families and lives will be open to the doing of the will of God.
4. Receiving our daily read:
We should always trust the Lord for the supply of daily necessities if we don’t want to shed blood in pursuit of success. When you trust God for supply, you will not fret or shed blood.
5. Forgiving our sins and the sins of others:
Only God can forgive sin. We must, therefore, count on God to forgive and strengthen us. This is one of the key things we must desire and commit to prayer that the Lord will forgive us our sins and trespasses.
6. Deliverance from evil and protection from temptation:
The 6th things we should trust God for His guidance, protection, and providence. We should depend on God absolutely to shelter us from the stormy blast. We must depend on God to keep us from evil. We must depend on God to help us escape temptations. He makes a way of escape always.
7. Showing forth the praises of God:
Finally, we should be concerned about shewing forth the praises of the Lord. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and they are safe. We must declare the name of the Lord, and ascribe all power and glory to Him because it all belongs to Him.
