Today we want to study how to build and unleash the power that brings about breakthroughs in all areas of life. We all need different breaks in different areas of our lives at different times. While some may need a breakthrough in marriage, others need that break in childbirth, and some need it in the area of business or commerce. There always comes a time when one of us needs a major break in life. Our study and prayer today is to build and unleash the power to breakthrough.
[Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV] “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
In warfare, a breakthrough is an offensive military assault that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line. In research, a breakthrough is a sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development. In everyday life, a breakthrough is a person’s dramatic success.
From the text above, we must see breaking through as the process of a chick breaking out of its shell, or as a space shuttle or rocket launching out. The power that enables a chick to break out of its shell or a rocket launch out is built within it. The power does not come from outside, it is unleashed from within.
Remember that the power that drives a car or drone is built within it. The power that can give you a breakthrough must be built within you. You need the power and drive from within. No army penetrates and carries on beyond a defense line with a force from without; the force to advance and penetrate is always from within.
To breakthrough we need to;
- Build up ourselves on our most Holy faith.
- Resist the enemy steadfastly in the faith
- Grind hard, smart, passionately, and patiently
1. Build up ourselves on our most Holy faith:
Build up yourself on your most holy faith through praying more in unknown tongues in private personal prayers. The Bible says, “he that prays in unknown tongues edifies himself“. (See 1 Corinthians 14:1-3). When we learn to pray more in tongues for long hours, we are built up.
Build up yourself on your most Holy faith through Bible study and soaking in preaching and prophesy. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. There is a certain level of faith you build when you read the Scriptures and another level you build when you hear the word.
Build up yourself on your most Holy faith by meditating on the testimonies of the Lord. When you spend time meditating on the testimonies of people like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebekah, Gideon, Elizabeth, Leah, Rachel, Daniel, etc, their story and experience motivate and build you up.
Build up yourself through connecting and networking with people who sharpen your countenance, people who bring out the best in you, people who lift your spirit. Iron sharpens iron; one shall chase thousand and two shall put ten thousand to flight. Proper networking has a multiplier effect.
2. Resist the enemy steadfastly in the faith:
To resist the enemy steadfastly in the faith, you must “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, put on the whole armour of God, and step up prayer, and watching with all perseverance”. (See Ephesians 6:10-20)
To resist the enemy steadfastly in the faith, you must be vigilant and sober. The enemy is not always aggressive, he is sometimes subtle. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8 KJV)
To resist the enemy steadfastly in the faith, you must engage the weapons of our warfare (the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony, and not loving our lives even unto death); in order to “pull down strongholds, to cast down imaginations and thoughts that exalt itself above the knowledge of God.” (See Revelation 12, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
To resist the enemy steadfastly in the faith, we must engage with the authority and power we have to tread upon serpents and scorpions (See Luke 10:17).
3. Grinding hard, smart, passionately, and patiently:
Grinding is actually working and labouring and pushing. If you really want a breakthrough in life, you must labour and work more abundantly. Don’t take the grace of God on your life for granted, labour more abundantly. “To whom much is given, much is expected”. This is our time, let us labour more abundantly. Remember, your efforts should be hard, smart, passionate, and patient.
I have no doubt that “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think, but according to His power that is at work in us”. Something must be working on the inside to affect what is going on on the outside. You must build up power within before you can unleash it to propel you to the next level.
You are blessed and you cannot fail. Stay blessed and keep pushing.
I love you!
