[Matthew 7:1-5 KJV] “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”
The word of God exhorts us not to judge. We are encouraged not to conclude or to form an opinion about people, events, or situations. The Lord believes that it is not fair. It is not right to judge or to form an opinion about others. This is because
- Many people are faced with many things you have no idea of.
- You will be judged when you judge others it’s a bad seed to sow. When you judge people, no one can make excuses for you when you fall into your own trap.
- If you were honest, you will know that you are no better than them.
Many years ago I had the opportunity to speak to someone I had earlier on criticised and judged. I had said bitter things about the person without knowing the full story. After I had the opportunity to speak to the person in private, I felt so silly and wicked. I knew that I was wrong and this person rather needed my empathy and not my criticism. Most often than not, we judge people when we have not heard them out.
When we judge people we forsake our own mercy. We shut doors of mercy to us. The truth is we are also humans, judging others will set us up for failure. I wish that you would decide from today that you shall leave all judgement to God. Don’t let anyone draw you into silly petty drama. Focus on fixing your own life.
Honestly, only hypocrites and people who are not real will be confident to judge others. The truth is, if you were honest, you will know that even when you are not doing the same thing you criticism you are involved in other similar wrongs.
I am not suggesting that you cannot tell people the truth they need to know; all I am saying is don’t form an opinion about people; don’t be quick to conclude; just give people space for change and amendment. The world will be a beautiful place when we allow people to change and rewrite their scripts. It may take longer than we expect but giving people a chance is better than crucifying them.
Stay blessed, I love you
