A siege is a military blockade of a city to conquer by a well-prepared assault.
Siege warfare is mostly a form of constant, low-intensity conflict that is characterized by one party holding a strong static defensive position.
This is more or less holding you hostage and offering you an opportunity for negotiation only on their terms.
Negotiations are mostly possible because of proximity and fluctuating advantages. There are times when the tables can turn to encourage diplomacy.
The art of conducting or resisting sieges is called siege warfare.
This type of warfare is common in the realms of the spirit. The devil tries to put you under siege. He will neither allow coming in or going out. You become stagnant and he afflicts you until you yield to his demands.
There are many of God’s children under siege. They are not maimed physically. What they are going through is not obvious because at least they can go up and down. You see some motion and life, so it is easy to think all is well.
Some of us are stuck in relationships that are neither going nor coming. Some of us are held in places where we can’t even breathe.
Some of us have locked horns with people we love in a conflict that is not resolving because we are not open to negotiations.
The devil is using these things to hold us captives and oppressing us. I pray that as we wait on God, we would learn to forgive and restore love and relationships.
The main strategy in siege warfare is to starve you. To take away your benevolent privileges. It is more or less like placing an embargo or sanctions on you.
This is exactly what was happening in Isaiah 41. The enemy has gathered together against Israel and had placed the nation under siege.
They had gathered ready for war, but the word of the Lord came to Israel. God began to encourage His servant to stay calm and in faith.
[Isaiah 41:8-16 KJV] “But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.”
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.”
“Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
“Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord , and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.”
“Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord , and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.”
To effectively deal with sieges,
- Remember the testimony of the Lord. He called your father alone and brought him far. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
- Fear not; rest in the presence of the Lord with you. The main tool of the enemy is fear and starvation in a siege.
- Fear not; just look more deeply in you, God is making you into a champion as you wait on Him.
- Don’t compromise, just fight! Don’t align with flesh, just fight! Sometimes, while running away from one problem we jump into another. Sometimes, we jump into a worse relationship to escape a bad one. Please wise up!
Read the text carefully, you will see what God is saying. I believe that you will make it. We are going to arise and fight back, resting in God.
Look deep inside you. He has made you a threshing instrument to thresh the mountains and to beat them small. The Lord will make you like wind, to blow them away.
This is the time to arise to face the devil. Don’t forget your spouse! Don’t fight the members of the church, they have done nothing! Don’t fight the man or woman you love! He may be a victim himself. Redirect your anger and frustration to the devil.
This is the time to activate praise and prayer. Turn up the heat, and face the enemy now!
Prayer Point
Thank God for this word to us. You are a threshing instrument with teeth. Pray!
Pray that any beast assigned against your life to trap you into a deadlock shall burn to ashes!
Pray that God would sharpen your teeth to thresh satanic mountains to ashes and blow them away by the wind.
Pray in the name of Jesus that the wind of God shall sweep away every blockade that is set in your path towards marriage and childbirth now! Command the wind of God to blow!
Pray that any barriers set up in your path to block the front of your shop, to drive away potential clients is breaking to ashes now! Pray that the barriers be broken!
Pray for the courage and faith to stand still as the enemy roar! Pray that God will help you to trust in His wings and stay faithful in the face of fear! Pray for courage and strength!
Pray that you shall be able to sing the songs of the Lord once again! Pray for the joy of the Lord to fill your hearts and mind. Pray for the power to face the enemy until you win! Pray!
Pray for divine speed and victory over wickedness in the name of Jesus Christ! Pray that evil will not thrive around you anymore! Pray for the Lord to restore increase to the church! Pray!
Amen!
Be blessed, I love you.
