I want to exhort you today as always to make sure that you don’t allow any man to rob you of your crown.
A crown is a sign of winning, arriving, royalty, and champions.
We are making a journey with Jesus and He will never fail us. If we run the race set before us, finish our course, and fight the good fight of faith, we will receive the crown of righteousness which the Lord has prepared for those that look for His appearing.
The pathetic fact, however, is that many people were running so well, but they allowed themselves to be hindered. I exhort you, however, not to allow any man to rob you of your crown.
[Galatians 5:7-10 KJV] “Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.”
The truth is, they were hindered because they allowed the “little yeast to leaven the whole lump.” They allowed the little whispers and cut calls to distract them.
I pray that you will not allow any man to steal your crown or rob you of it. Sometimes, you are so content with your life until you allow the wrong people to begin to speak into your life.
I pray that you will sit under the right doctrine, keep the right company, and allow only the right people to speak into your life.
Let us think about these 4 key tips to maintain your place and crown;
- Endure temptation
- Be temperate in all things
- Serve with a willing mind
- Strive lawfully and
- Finish your course
1. Endure temptation:
James 1:12 teaches that “blessed is the man that endures temptation; because when he is tried he will recieve the crown of life which God has reserved for those who love him”.
You must decide to endure the pain that comes with self-control in the face of intense persecution, cravings, and unfair treatment.
2. Be temperate in all things as you strive for mastery:
We know that in a race many runs but only one is crowned. You must therefore decide to run to be crowned. You must run with a focus to win. “Beat your body under and be temperate” in all you do. That is how you will be crowned (See 1 Corinthians 9:22-27)
3. Serve with a willing mind:
Do whatever you have been called to do with a ready mind, and as an example but not as a lord, not motivated by money or by constraint.
The Bible says “if we do what we have been called to do with a ready mind, we shall receive a crown when the chief shepherd comes” (See 1 Peter 5:1-4)
4. Strive lawfully:
Indeed, many may finish the race but may not be crowned; because they are not striving lawfully. They are despising the rules of engagement. They are disrespecting the rules of the game.
Listen, let us respect the rules of the game. Give others equity. You have a crown to protect (See 2 Timothy 2:5)
5. Finish your course:
Finally, we must strive to finish our course. We must run the race set before us. We should strive and “fight the good fight of faith.” (See 2 Timothy 4:8)
Dearly beloved, let no man rob you of your crown and you will be happy you did.
I love you!
