[John 14:1 KJV] “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me”
In John 14, our Lord Jesus Christ began to speak to His disciples; exhorting them to believe in God and in Him. He encouraged them not to let their hearts be troubled. Listen! The Lord was aware that there are many troubles in this world, and a “man, born of a woman, is of few days full of afflictions.” The Lord knows what we were to suffer at the hands of the wicked; hence the need to exhort us not to be troubled in our hearts.
He exhorted us not to let our hearts be troubled because;
- He was going to prepare a place in His Father‘s house for us.
- He was leaving his peace with us
- He will pray that the father will send us a comforter
- He assures us that we will receive whatever we ask
He gave us an eternal hope, His peace, His assurance, and His Spirit. These are the four key things that should cause our hearts to rest.
We are not alone; we have company. The Lord is with us by His spirit and we have His peace. The Bible teaches us to ask for anything else we may need.
I want to exhort you: do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God and believe in Jesus! This is the master key to live right and happy.
Stay blessed
