[Genesis 30:33 KJV] “So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.”
There are times when a man must learn to shut up and allow time to vindicate him. Jacob told his uncle to separate their flocks so that his righteousness shall speak for him in time to come. Jacob was insinuating that only time can vindicate him; but his righteousness will speak for him.
Let’s look at four instances when a man must allow his righteousness to speak for him in time to come;
Firstly, when someone from your inner circle is accusing you:
No one will believe you even if you speak. It is better to allow time to sort things out in this case.
Secondly, when your accusers outnumber you:
When the elders of the Jews engage people to accuse our Lord Jesus Christ, He kept quiet.
Thirdly, when your accuser has authority over you:
This is more dicey; when your accuser has authority over you, you need to be circumspect.
Fourthly, when it is someone’s word against yours:
Very often in such scenarios, there is very little you can say to defend your words; hence the need to let your righteousness speak for you.
Stay blessed
