I will be exhorting you today on the need to dominate gates that matter in life. We must under that a gate is a point of entry to and from a space enclosed in a wall usually with a hinged member.
It is important to note that walls are constructed to protect a space from external aggression or trespassing. A gate therefore is erect to give legal access to an enclosed space.
There are seven gates that you and your descendant must possess:
- The gates of thoughts
- The gates of hell
- The gates of the city
- The gates that restrict
- The gates to the soul
- The gates of your enemies
- The gates of the church
There are five key reasons why we must possess the gates:
- All the wisdom, strategy, and force of the city cries at the gate
- Decisions are made at the gates
- Opinions and perceptions are formed at the gates
- Watch men are stationed at the gates
- It is a place of exchange.
1. The gates of thoughts where the devil tries to fight you:
The gates of thoughts are the avenue by which the devil tries to implant active thoughts, imaginations and high things that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of God. (2Corinthians 10:3-6) Until you learn to master and dominate the gates of your thought the enemy will infiltrate and control your mind, and for that matter your heart and life. Each of us must learn to dominate the gates of our mind
2. The gates of the church:
This is the place where things enter and exit the church. The pulpit, the choir, the leaders, and stage ministers. Psalm 87:2 teaches that God loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Judah. These are the gates of the Lord where the righteous enter in. (Psalm 107:18)
3. The gates of hell that try to fight the church and missions:
Our Lord Jesus reveals that there are the gates of hell that are trying to fight the advancement and building of the church. As we try to build the church as co-labourers, there are gates that are trying to restrict our advancement. There are forces of darkness that are keen on stopping our advance to take more territories for God. We must determine to dominate the gates of hell. We must overpower the gates of hell and be in-charge. Nothing that shall rise against you should prosper! You must win the battle against evil!
[Matthew 16:18 KJV] “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
4. The gates of the city; where verdicts, decrees, and decisions are made and perceptions are formed, and people discussed:
In the realms of the spirit, there are gates to every city. There are places in every city where decisions are reached and schemes are made. Sometimes the decisions made and opinions that are formed there carry even more weight than in the chamber of the president.
I pray that wherever men are gathered to discuss and to decide contrary to God’s purpose concerning be scattered. Sometimes, a few men gather to discuss you and your marriage is doomed. I pray that you shall escape the schemes of the wicked at the gates.
[Proverbs 8:1-3 KJV] “Doth not wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places, by the way In the places of the paths. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, At the coming in at the doors.”
5. The gates that restrict that must be lifted for glory to enter:
The psalmist commanded the gates that restricts them from lifting up their head that the king of glory may enter. I decree that any gates that are shut to restrict your movement be rebuked in the name of Jesus Christ! You will advance and not be stagnant. I pray that you possess the gates that restrict in the name of Jesus Christ!
[Psalm 24:7-10 KJV] “Lift up your heads, O ye gates; And be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”
6. The gates to your soul, the five senses through which you relate with the physical world:
The Bible admonishes us to guard our hearts with all diligence; because out of it flows all issues of life. There are five gates to the souls through which you relate with the physical world. These are the gates by which the god of this age tries to control your taste, preferences, and behaviours. These are the five senses: the senses of taste, and of sight, of smell, of feeling, and of hearing. These are the gates to your soul where your lust and craving could be influenced. You will in life when you try to dominate and control these gates.
7. The two leaved gates that give access to hidden riches and secret treasures:
Finally, I want to introduce yet another gate in the realms of the spirit. This gate is much talked about in Isaiah 45, this is the two-leaved gate of hidden treasure and riches in dark places. There is some kind of hidden wealth and treasure that you only access when you master the gates and a higher power opens them unto you. In Isaiah 45, the Lord promised to open these gates unto Cyrus the King. He was specially anointed to be king.
[Isaiah 45:1-3 KJV] “Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD , which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.”
8. The gates of your enemies:
This is where the enemy makes and releases resources to implement the decision. You must possess the gates of your enemy. You have what it takes to control what the enemy can do there.
[Genesis 24:60 KJV] ”And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.”
