13 Practical Ways Every Church Can Reach More Souls

One of the greatest challenges facing the church and church planting today are the challenges that confront the work of outreach and soul-winning especially in the cities and inner cities. Many churches and believers are not reaching new souls because we don’t even know how. We seem to have exhausted all the creative ways to do this.

The purpose of outreach

It is important to note that all our outreach effort has three main purposes. Your attempt to reach the world with the gospel must have three dimensions;

To create the awareness that the church or congregation is in the community: Publicity
To send the message to the city; that is to facilitate the growth of the word: Proclaim
To garner for decisions and to add people to the church: Sell

In Luke 10, the Lord sent them to cities where He shall Himself go as an advance team to create the awareness that He is coming. They went ahead to prepare the hearts of the people. He sent them to spread the word.

In Matthew 24:14, the Lord instructed us to preach for a witness to all nations. The preaching at times is not for decisions but just to be a witness for all nations

[Matthew 24:14 KJV] “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come”

Then at a certain stage, we are focused on snatching and saving people out of the fire. This is when the actual work of soul-winning is involved.

[Jude 1:23 KJV] “and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh”

There are times when we are out in the field not necessarily to win souls but to create awareness and to proclaim the Good News. Ultimately, we are in the world to save her but many people will be saved through a gradual process; though some can be saved radically.
