My message for you today is on 4 lessons from Bethsaida on healing and restoration.
[Malachi 4:1-3 KJV] “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.”
“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts”
The Lord has promised to send “the sun of righteousness with healing in his wings” to redeem those who have suffered under the oppressive hand of the wicked.
He has assured us that wickedness and witchcraft shall not thrive forever; there is a season of grace appointed for the wicked, and the earlier they take advantage of that the better. The wicked must repent or soon and very soon, the day of the Lord shall burn like fire against them. The Lord shall consume them.
The sun of righteousness shall however arise with healing in his wings to both heal those who love the Lord and to crush the wicked. He shall grow like a calf and crush the wicked.
I have no doubt that healing is coming and the day of liberation is drawing near. In that day, the sun of righteousness shall come to Bethsaida and work both healing and liberation for us.
Miracles and restoration require faith, patience, focus, swiftness, and open-mindedness
The story of the man in John 5:1-9, by the pool of Bethsaida, teaches some great lessons, which we want to explore. He had been oppressed for 38 years, but when the Messiah arrived, his chains and yokes were broken. What are these important lessons to explore? Miracles and restoration require faith, patience, focus, swiftness, and open-mindedness
1. Come to hear and be healed:
The man was healed at the pool of Bethsaida and not at home. Even those Jesus healed at home sent representatives to meet up with Jesus. “There were many widows in Samaria but to none of them was the prophet sent, except the widow at Zarephath.“
2. Be open-minded:
Though there is a place for using tokens and material things in ministering healing, it is not the only way; be open-minded and receive other modes of ministration. God can work in many ways. He can heal by you dipping in the pool but can also heal by sending a messenger of healing.
3. Receiving healing requires faith and patience:
Everyone at the pool believed they could be well again and were waiting patiently for a move. It doesn’t matter how long you have suffered under your burden, when the Lord shows up He will heal and restore you. The man had suffered for 38 years but he was restored instantly. I see your healing and restoration coming.
4. Be patient:
There is time for everything. Remember that the people needed to wait until the water was troubled. The angel that moved the waters came at a certain season; even Jesus came at a certain time to heal the man. We must understand that we live in seasons and times. There is time for everything; we must be willing and ready to work in God’s time and season of doing things.
5. Focus and be swift:
The healing of the day went to the man who went into the water first. You ought to be sharp. Many people miss their miracles because they are not focused and swift with their faith.
You may live in a community but your case can be different! God has a way of dealing with every one of us. Although He healed some people by the moving of the water, He also healed others by the spoken and the prophetic word.
Many are still oppressed because they are unable to engage these truths and lessons to deliver results, but may that not be your case, in Jesus name!
