I have a powerful message for you today, on understanding how God’s kingdom works, how you can make profit on your various endowments in life, and still be prepared for Judgement Day.
[Matthew 25:14-30 KJV] “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.”
“Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his Lord’s money.”
“After a long time the Lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.”
“His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.”
“His Lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.”
“His Lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.”
“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
One of the prominent mysteries of the kingdom of heaven is the fact that God wants to give treasures and talents and wealth to the servants of the kingdom.
The wealth or treasure or opportunities that will be handed over to you will be determined by your several abilities which comprise your spiritual gifts, natural endowments and talents, education, exposure, experience, and mindset.
What you can do and the extent of your profit and impact will be determined by;
- How you can strategically manage what you receive
- How much time you are allowed
- The mindset with which you work
One of the key truths expounded by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 25 is the reality of eternal judgment. In this chapter of the Bible, the Lord reminds His church, that we shall all stand before the great throne to be judged.
We would all have to answer for all the things we thought, said, and did. Every one of us will give an account of himself to the Lord. Everyone will appear and show the Lord what he gained by all the values and virtues that were given him or her.
God is expecting every one of us to make profit. He is expecting profit on His return. It is, however, important to remember that the extent of profit you can make in life is determined by certain factors:
- Who you are
- The strategic management of what you receive
- How long you can work
- The mindset with which you work
These are the four key factors that influence how much profit you can make by the talents and graces God gives you. The man gives talents to his servants and expected profit.
Who you are:
Who you are is a combination of;
- Your several abilities (spiritual gift, talents, and acquired skills). There are over twenty spiritual gifts, several talents and abilities that the New Testament enumerates.
- Your education, exposure, and experience; the more educated, exposed, and experience you are, the more likely you are to succeed.
- Your heart and mindset. Those who have good, wise, and faithful hearts excel but those with bad, callous, wicked, lazy, and selfish hearts fail.
The master gave them talents and opportunities based on their several abilities.
Strategic management of talents
There are two main ways in managing talents;
- You either stretch to fit by putting the money and opportunities into usury, or
- You fit the stretch.
You either trade with the talents or you put it to usury. Be open-minded about these things.
How long you have
Time factor matters; how long you have to live could determine how far you can reach. The master only returned after a long time.
The mindset with which you work
1 Peter 4:7-11 teaches how we ought to work:
- Work as a steward of the manifold grace of God
- Work according to the ability God gives
- Do everything you do to bring glory to God
These are the simple keys to make profit and be ready for the Judgment.
Stay blessed
