[Matthew 6:9 KJV] “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”
The Bible teaches that whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you have it and it shall be yours. When it comes to prayer, three things matter;
- Your desire
- Your faith
- Your works:
What you do after you have prayed matters a lot. Do you remember the guy whose Lord forgave him his debt but afterwards went on to heckle someone who owed him peanuts? What he did after praying did matter.
The Scriptures teaches that one thing that we should desire as children of God is that the name of the Lord will be sanctified and hallowed both in heaven and on earth. We should commit ourselves to do things that will honour the name of the Lord because;
- The name of the Lord is our only strong tower; where we can run to and be safe.
- There is no name given under heaven by which men ought to be saved except the name of Jesus Christ
- There is no other name by which we can cast out devils, except by the name of Jesus Christ
- No name can cause all the earth to both bow and praise but the name of Jesus. This is the name that is above every other name.
[Proverbs 18:10 KJV] “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” [Acts 4:12 KJV]
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” [Mark 16:17 KJV]
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” [Philippians 2:9-11 KJV]
Listen the name of the Lord is above every other name. That is the only name that can change your life. You have the name to defend you and keep you safe!
