[Luke 6:37-38 KJV] “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.“
There is a saying that what goes around, comes around. This is one of the most biblically sound addages of the English language. What we are reading in the text almost sounds like you will reap what you sow, mostly in multiplied dimensions. The Lord is teaching that what we do to others may come back to us. If we treat others with evil, evil will come to us. One of the simple ways to kill evil is to let it end with you. People will always learn from what you teach them.
The forgiven learn to forgive; the judged learn to judge others; the condemned learn to condemn others. If you want people to do better teach them how to do it by doing it for them. Inasmuch as it true that some people are dull and block headed, others will learn and learn quickly! We can make the world and the church a better place by giving better to it.
The Lord said “Give and it will come back to you.” It will come back to you in a “good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over.” The world, our universe is filled with what we have thrown at it, but we can change the narrative by beginning to fill the earth with goodness and love. Remember, whatever “measure with which you mete out shall men mete out to you.“
Today, I exhort you to give but give that which is good. Give your best and expect the best, not necessarily from those who recieved from you but from those the Lord will prepare to give to you. Give that which is good and you will never regret!
Love you
