God’s word to you today is to talk less and pray more, something many people know, but few practice, so let’s get into the Word;
[Psalm 39:1 KJV] “I said, I will take heed to my ways, That I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, While the wicked is before me.”
One of the very first keys that will help you to find sustainable success in life is to learn to talk less and pray more. This is simple because;
- In a multitude of words there is sin. There is no way you will talk to much and not err. Many of the mistakes in life are as a result to plenty talk.
[Proverbs 10:19 KJVS] “In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.”
- The devil and the enemy is not omniscient. He does not know what you have not said. What he hears informs him of your next move.
- Talking won’t change anything; prayer would! Prayer changes things but talk may worsen your plight.
- Talking exposes you to the enemy’s attack. When Gideon heard the Midianites share their dream, he was inspired to attack in faith.
[Judges 7:13-15 KJVS] “And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.”
[14] “And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.”
[15] “And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the Lord hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.”
- Talking dissipate energy, praying build in you faith and spiritual energy to win. Talk less and pray more.
- Don’t talk too much, nobody cares!
Those who learn to pray more and bridle their tongue do far better in life than those who talk more. The tongue is a poison and an unruly member of the body, it must be tamed.
The scriptures teach that “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.” (James 1:26 KJV)
