[Exodus 1:1-10 KJV] “Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin, Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher. And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.”
“And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.”
“And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.“
Many people fizzle into oblivion but you can stay relevant for a long time by simply;
- Honouring fathers, preserving, and publishing their acts and legacy. There arose another king who knew nothing about Joseph. Why didn’t he know anything about Joseph? Because the generations that came after treated him and his legacy as ordinary. They didn’t even know that Egypt was favoured because of Joseph. (Pastors wives who divorce, associate pastors who defect)
- Don’t over rate externalities and outward appearances.
- Don’t dwell in the past; keep the calling, purpose, and benchmarks in mind and before you! What is the one thing you should be doing.
- Be growth and not goal oriented. Seek to be making progress and growing. Keep growing and keep pushing toward perfection. You don’t always have to set new resolution!
- Be sure you are in the right direction and then mind the same things, same rules, and follow same examples.
- Be intentional about who you learn from. Relate with those who believe we are great examples and follow. There are many enemies of Cross.
- Document and publish your acts, exploits, experiences for the next generation.
