Matthew 14:22-25 KJV — “And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. [23] And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. [24] But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. [25] And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.“
One of the greatest lessons we learn from this narrative is the fact that Jesus ended His day with prayer, so He is able to start the next with power. Even after a powerful meeting, Jesus will spend time alone in the mountain and pray. While many of us are seeking the opportunity to go on break after 70 days of revival, Jesus is preparing himself for those who want to spend time alone with Him.
Today is the last day of the year and an important one. Join me and the Lord as we wait and watch patiently for the coming year. Come and let us count our blessings. Come and share your testimony and triumph with us. Come let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord God our maker. He is our God and we are the people of His pasture.
Prayer points
- Let us thank God for the year 2023, count the blessings and the many deliverances from the schemes of the wicked.
- Pray that the presence of the Lord shall accompany us as we CrossOver into the coming year.
- Pray that God will both show us His will and give us the grace to accept and walk in the will.
- Pray that the Lord shall supply all of our needs in the coming year according to His riches in glory. We shall eat our food and drink our grapes and vine without scarcity and fear. Pray that none of us shall be homeless, without shelter. May the Lord supply rent and shelter for all who stay under this grace. You will buy land and build good houses. Your cattle will increase and your store house overflow.
- Pray that the Lord shall forgive all our trespasses; as we forgive those who have trespass against us. Pray that the Lord shall cleanse each of us from iniquity. May the Lord deliver us from the snares and curses of the wicked.
- Pray that the Lord shall lead us throughout the year in His will. May the Lord deliver us from evil all year round. In the day of trouble may the Lord exempt you. May He remember and deliver you from calamity and shame.
- Declare with me that the power and glory belongs to God and to Him be all the praises. May we be steadfast and always abound in the work of the Lord.
Stay blessed
