Matthew 17:14-21 KJV — “And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, [15] Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. [16] And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.”
[17] “Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. [18] And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. [19] Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?”
[20] “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. [21] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.“
The story of Jesus healing a lunatic reveals that there are three key things that give dominion over demons and darkness: faith, prayer and fasting, and righteousness. The greatest thief that steals your breakthrough are doubts, prayerlessness, perversion. Our Lord Jesus rebuked them for their faithlessness and perversion. We must deal with these pitfalls and see more miracles.
Many people seek miracles as though, it is a commodity for sale that can be picked from the shelves. They use God as if He is an emergency door. There are many who never take time to build their faith but run to the altar when they have a need.
Sometimes, it works for unbelievers; but not for believers. If you are a believer, you are a child and God, the father wants to have a relationship with you. I exhort you to build your fellowship with the Holy Spirit for the release of power over demons and darkness!
- Pray that God will increase our faith. He will send men and women that bring light to your world. Pray that God will reveal himself to each of us in a deep way to give us roots and stability.
- Rebuke every demonic power assigned to distract and control you. The thief comes not, but for to steal and kill and destroy. There is an evil power, trying to stop your miracle from manifesting.
- Ask the Lord to shine His light upon us and give us a breakthrough. May you see the goodness of the Lord. I pray that you will shine like a star.
- Yield your member as instruments of righteousness. Tell the Lord to use you for His glory. Pray that you will be able to follow the leading of the Lord.
