1 Chronicles 4:9-10 KJV — And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. [10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
We want to discuss five evils that could hurt:
1. The mixed multitude:
People who come around for their own selfish interest can gain. They are infectious and could influence others. Let us pray that any personality that is infiltrating our lives just to use and dump us shall not succeed.
2. The men after the manner of the beast of the field
Every fellow land has untamed beasts that try to eat people up. Jesus told his disciples about wolves. In Luke 10, their ministry was expanding and they ran the risk of falling among wolves. Pray that the Lord shall enlighten to escape the snares of wolves in sheep skin!
3. Curses and witchcraft
Balak was scared of the feat and testimony of Israel and feeling threatened, he engaged Balaam to curse them. There are people who are scared by your speed and conquest and will try to curse to slow you down. Beware!
4. The spirit of Jezebel:
There is a spirit that always tries to infiltrate your camp. There are spirits that target leaders; they try to rule through those leaders. They manipulate, control, and try to dominate the leader through seduction and witchcraft.
5. Greed and empty ambition
Let us pray that we shall not be driven by greed and empty ambition. Pray that you shall be led by the spirit of God into his will.
