There are few simple things you can do to receive the Holy Spirit but let us discuss four. I am sure that as we step into the new season of our lives, we shall practice the things that we have been taught in fellowship.
God is a spirit and He responds to those who approach Him in spirit and in truth. God rewards those who diligently seek Him, hence the need to understand that these are just hints and guiding truth to receive the Holy Spirit!
1. Know Him:
The Bible teaches that the world can not receive the Holy Spirit because they don’t know Him. You can only receive the Holy Spirit when you know Him.
In Acts 19, the Bible tells us that apostle Paul found some disciples and the first question he asked them was, have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed and the answer was shocking. They said “we have not heard of him.” The first steps towards receiving the Holy Spirit is seeking to know the spirit of truth.
John 14:16-17 KJV — And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
2. Ask the father to send him to you:
The scriptures in Luke teaches that if we being evil, know how to give good gifts to our children, then God will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him. Let us arise and pray and ask for the Holy Spirit.
Luke 11:13 KJV — If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
God will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him; let us arise and ask him.
3. Wait on Him:
See Luke 24:44-53, wait until, you are endured with power…and they waited for 10 days… Our Lord Jesus admonished the church to wait until they are endured with power. There is the need to wait on him. The need to spend time in his presence until you are anointed with power.
4. Sit at the feet of anointed men:
Jesus went to John the Baptist, Ananias was sent to Paul, Cornelius invited Peter, Peter was sent to Samaria …
Stay blessed and have a blessed week.
Amen
