Is she the right woman for me?

Ephesians 5:25-31 KJV — Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26] that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

[28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: [30] for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. [31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

I believe in the principle that when you become the right person, it’s much easier finding the right person for you. I want to share five leading questions that will help any suitor verify whether they are making the right choice or not. I believe that marriage works better when you choose what you can handle.

Five leading questions to answer with absolute positivity are:

1. Can I love this woman as Christ loved the church?

To forgive and cherish her with all her flaws and weaknesses? The common mistake I find with suitors is; we marry strengths instead of choosing weaknesses. Anybody can manage with strengths but you must choose based on weakness you can handle. No woman is perfect, so choose one with weaknesses you can handle. One day I needed to purchase a car and went to check out user reviews; when I finished reading the reviews for Range Rover, though it was my favorite; I didn’t choose it anymore because I was not prepared and in the position to handle what comes with it.

2. Can I cherish this woman above all others?

Dear Sir, marry a woman you can cherish and hold dearly. This will save you a great deal of heart aches and regret. The scriptures place a demand on you to cherish your wife. Settle with a woman you can cherish.

3. Can I nourish this woman, financially, emotionally, sexually, and bodily

Your assignment on marriage requires that you nourish your wife. Scriptures never suggested anything like sharing responsibilities. It’s your responsibility to nourish her. Choose a woman you can nourish.

4. Can I wash her with the word of the word

Is she teachable? Can I teach her how to love God, love me, and love our children. Will she be willing to learn from me? Can I teach her and wash her with the word of God.

5. Can I protect, pastor and provide for her?

Choose a woman you can protect, provide for, and pastor. Choose wisely and don’t complain. You will always have work to do on her. This will be your wife and responsibility.

Choose wisely and thank me later. Bless you!
