Psalm 37:23-29 KJV — The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delighteth in his way. [24] Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. [25] I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
[26] He is ever merciful, and lendeth; And his seed is blessed. [27] Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell for evermore. [28] For the LORD loveth judgment, And forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. [29] The righteous shall inherit the land, And dwell therein for ever.
The seed for today is the decision and commitment to never give up on God! No matter what happens; no matter how your familiar friends and acquaintances treat you; no matter how life turns out; never give up on God.
There are many people that are just getting through life! Most people have given up and are not living life; but I want to exhort you to keep pushing. If you touch hell don’t hold it, if you are going through hell don’t stop.
The King David is clearly saying that;
- The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and the Lord delights in his ways.
- Though the best of us may stumble and fall, no good man that falls shall be utterly cast down. You may have fallen but you can’t be utterly cast down. You detractors can try all that they want but read my lips or fingers; you shall not be utterly cast down. The Lord shall hold you with his hand!
- The good man, the righteous shall never be forsaken nor his descendants beg for bread. God will preserve your seed and your legacy. Our children and grandchildren shall inherit the earth. The Lord will preserve your seeds and legacy.
My exhortation for you tonight is never let
- The ingratitude of the ungrateful make you change your good nature. You may not be perfect and continue to be the good you know how to be.
- The delays tempt you to give up on God! It’s only a matter of time! The God of Zachariah and Elizabeth will show. The situation and circumstances might appear like you are failing but God is faithful.
- Don’t let your dying body and the weakness of your helpers womb, discourage you. God is faithful and God is able. Men may have given up on you but God hasn’t! Keep pushing! Keep pressing and keep doing right!
Let me share with you three things you can do now:
- Be good; go beyond doing good to being good.
- Depart from evil; think thoughts of beautiful and purity. Depart from evil.
- Do good; never repay evil with evil; allow God to take vengeance! Don’t fight any man! Don’t defend yourself! Allow God to do his work! He is a better rewarder!
Listen to me and listen well; let go and let God! When men accuse, let God answer them! Oh yes! You have fallen but you will not! be utterly cast down! May the hand of the Lord help you up! May God graciously lift you! May God preserve your seed and legacy! Receive grace and power!
