Psalm 23:1 KJV — “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.“
Life is filled with uncertainties, battles, and valleys that sometimes leave us feeling lost or overwhelmed. Yet, the greatest assurance you can have is knowing that you are not walking alone. When the Lord becomes your Shepherd, every step of your journey is guided by His wisdom, covered by His protection, and enriched by His provision. You can face tomorrow with courage because the One leading you is faithful and unfailing.
To make the Lord your Shepherd means to fully trust Him as the One who leads, guides, and provides for your life. Just as a shepherd watches over his flock, protects them from danger, and directs them to green pastures, so does the Lord when you submit to His care. It is a daily choice to depend on His wisdom, accept His direction, and rest in His provision rather than leaning on your own understanding.
You should make the Lord your Shepherd because only He knows the path that leads to true peace, fulfillment, and eternal life. Human strength, wealth, or wisdom can fail, but God’s love and faithfulness never fail. When the Lord is your Shepherd, you lack nothing essential; He restores your soul, protects you in dark valleys, and ensures that goodness and mercy follow you all the days of your life.
You make the Lord your Shepherd by surrendering your will to His, listening to His Word, and obeying His voice. This involves daily prayer, studying Scripture, and being sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. It also means choosing to follow Him even when the path is unfamiliar, trusting that His plan is always for your good. By doing so, you live under His care and experience the abundant life He has promised.
