Make God your dwelling place

Psalm 91:1 KJV — “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.“

Why Make God Your Dwelling Place

Life is full of uncertainties, trials, and shifting circumstances, and if our hearts are anchored only in temporary things, we are easily shaken. But when God becomes our dwelling place, we find safety, peace, and stability in Him. He is not just a shelter in times of trouble but a constant refuge where we are secure. Choosing to dwell in God means recognizing that nothing in this world can offer the lasting comfort, protection, and satisfaction that He alone provides.

What It Means to Dwell in God

To make God your dwelling place means to abide in His presence daily, not just running to Him in times of trouble. It is to rest in His love, trust in His promises, and walk in constant fellowship with Him. It is a life centered on Him, where His Word guides your decisions, His Spirit strengthens your heart, and His peace governs your mind. In His presence, you are at home—safe, loved, and complete.

How to Make God Your Dwelling Place

You make God your dwelling place by drawing near to Him through prayer, coming boldly before His throne of grace, and continually seeking His presence. Prayer is not just a routine, but a prime way of cultivating intimacy with Him, pouring out your heart and receiving His strength. As you spend time in the Word, worship, and surrender, your heart begins to delight in Him more than anything else. Today, choose to dwell in God—not as a visitor, but as a child who belongs in His house forever.

Decide today to make God your permanent dwelling, not a temporary shelter. Let prayer, the Word, and worship anchor your life in Him, for in His presence, you will find peace, strength, and unshakable joy.

[reference Psalm 91, John 15:4, Hebrews 4:16]
