Psalm 27:13 (KJV) — “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”
There are moments in life when the weight of delay, disappointment, or difficulty makes the heart weary. You may have prayed, worked, and waited, yet things still seem slow to change. The temptation to faint—to give up, to lose heart—is real. But David’s words remind us of a secret strength: belief. He refused to let what he saw determine what he believed. His confidence in God’s goodness kept his heart alive when circumstances tried to drain it.
When you choose to believe that God is good, even when life feels bad, hope begins to rise again. Faith doesn’t deny the pain; it declares that goodness will win. The same God who came through for David will come through for you. The storm may rage, the night may linger, but your belief in God’s faithfulness will carry you into your season of seeing. Believing is what bridges the waiting and the winning.
So don’t faint.
Don’t let weariness steal your wonder. Keep believing to see the goodness of the Lord right where you are; in your home, in your work, in your journey. What you believe today will sustain you until His goodness is revealed tomorrow.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your unfailing goodness and mercy. When I feel tired or discouraged, remind me that You are still working for my good. Strengthen my heart to keep believing until I see the fullness of Your promise. I choose faith over fear, and hope over despair. I will see Your goodness in the land of the living. In Jesus’ name, amen.
