Luke 10:19 (KJV) — “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Exhortation:
Jesus did not speak these words as a suggestion but as a declaration of authority. The power He gives is not symbolic, it is spiritual, present, and active.
Serpents and scorpions represent hidden dangers, spiritual opposition, fear, and every strategy of the enemy meant to intimidate or harm God’s people.
Yet Christ assures us that all the power of the enemy is already under His authority, and by extension, under ours as believers.
Too often, believers live defensively, forgetting that we are called to walk boldly. To tread means to step forward intentionally, not to retreat.
When fear rises, when temptation whispers, when adversity confronts you, remember that you do not face these battles powerless. The authority of Jesus backs your faith, your prayers, and your obedience.
This promise does not mean we will never face challenges, but it does mean challenges will never defeat us. Victory is not achieved by our strength, but by our confidence in Christ’s finished work.
When you stand on God’s Word, the enemy loses ground. Walk in obedience, resist the devil, and advance in faith, knowing that nothing can ultimately harm what God has empowered.
Today, rise with spiritual confidence. Refuse intimidation. Step forward in faith, knowing that you are covered, authorized, and victorious through Christ.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the authority You have given me through Jesus Christ. I receive the power to tread upon every work of the enemy and to walk in victory without fear. Strengthen my faith to stand boldly on Your Word.
Help me to walk in obedience, courage, and confidence, knowing that nothing shall by any means harm me. I declare that every power of darkness is under my feet, and I live today in the triumph of Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
