2 Timothy 1:6 KJV — Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
Apostle Paul admonished Timothy to activate the gift of God that was in him when he (Paul) laid hands on him. It is one thing to be anointed but it’s another level to activate the anointing. There are many people who are heavily anointed but the gift lies dormant in their hearts and spirit.
The story of our Lord Jesus Christ teaches how the anointing can be activated. He was anointed at the Jordan in the ministry of John the Baptist. The Lord spoke audibly and the spirit even descended bodily upon Him; yet the Anointing was activated to be tangible subsequently;
Luke 4:1-2 KJV — And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, [2] being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
The three simple steps to activate the anointing are
Be led by the Spirit:
Acknowledge His presence and ask Him for a word and direction in every little move that you make. Jesus Christ was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness; He did not go there by Himself. He was led. May the Holy Spirit lead you. May you ask for direction in every little matter. May the Lord help you and may you hear His voice.
Endure temptation and hardness
Jesus was led by the spirit to a hard place but he was willing to endure the leading of the Holy Ghost.
Be led by the text and the context of the text of scripture:
You must be led by the word. You must be guided by the scriptures when you are led by the Holy Spirit.
Stay blessed
