Isaiah 62:1-7 MSG — [1-5] Regarding Zion, I can’t keep my mouth shut, regarding Jerusalem, I can’t hold my tongue, Until her righteousness blazes down like the sun and her salvation flames up like a torch. Foreign countries will see your righteousness, and world leaders your glory. You’ll get a brand-new name straight from the mouth of God. You’ll be a stunning crown in the palm of God’s hand, a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God. No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined. You’ll be called Hephzibah (My Delight), and your land Beulah (Married), Because God delights in you and your land will be like a wedding celebration. For as a young man marries his virgin bride, so your builder marries you, And as a bridegroom is happy in his bride, so your God is happy with you.
[6-7] I’ve posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem. Day and night they keep at it, praying, calling out, reminding God to remember. They are to give him no peace until he does what he said, until he makes Jerusalem famous as the City of Praise.
Every promise of God is an invitation to treat; it’s an invitation to make an offer in prayer and supplication. When God speaks a word, we must pick it up in prayer and remind Him until He makes good His word. Awake as the watchman of the Lord to intercede and pray for the fulfillment of the word. Arise and pray for the family and the church. Pray for the fulfillment of the good word of the Lord and let us intercede until God has made us, a praise in the land.
1 Timothy 1:18-20 KJV — This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; [19] holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: [20] of whom is Hymenæus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
God is posting some of us as watchmen upon the walls of the church. To be a watchman, you must be sober, alert, on guard, and at post; always watching and labouring in prayer and crying until God makes us, a praise in the land.
Isaiah 56:8-12 KJV — The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. [9] All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. [10] His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
[11] Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. [12] Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
As we wage the good warfare, we must holdfast to faith and good conscience. Without faith and a good conscience, we would fail. Let us wage a good warfare with faith and a good conscience; to be able to finish well.
Psalm 145:18-20 KJV — The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, To all that call upon him in truth. [19] He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them. [20] The LORD preserveth all them that love him: But all the wicked will he destroy.
May the Lord bless you and sustain your faith to keep praying for the family and church.
Prayer points
Pray that God will give you the power to intercede and pray for the family. May every word of God be fulfilled in our lives in the name of Jesus Christ.
