Be careful about your friends, your friends influence you more than your pastor.
[2 Samuel 13:1-3 KJV] “And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her. But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.“
Your friends have great deal of influence on you. They can control everyone of your choices. In the text above, though Ammon had an inappropriate desire, he could carry it out because of Jonadab, his friend. It was Jonadab that gave the counsel to carry out the scheme.
Friends can both make or unmake you. They can wield great influence over you. You must have the right kind of friends if you want to go far.
I pray that the Lord shall open your eyes to see traitors who disguise themselves as friends! May you never fall into the trap of the Gibeonites! May you arise from the seat of the scornful, and not stand in the way of the ungodly. May the Lord help and bless you with geniune friends who bring you closer to God! May you escape the enticement of evil workers in the name of Jesus!
Stay blessed
