[Proverbs 13:20] He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
This proverb teaches us that the company we keep has a profound impact on our lives. If we walk with wise people, we will become wise ourselves. But if we associate with fools, we will be led astray.
This is because the people we spend time with influence our thoughts, our words, and our actions. If we surround ourselves with people who are negative, critical, and gossipy, we will eventually become like them. But if we spend time with people who are positive, uplifting, and encouraging, we will be drawn to their way of life.
The choice of who we spend time with is a very important one. It is not something to be taken lightly. We should carefully consider the company we keep, and make sure that we are surrounding ourselves with people who will make us better people.
- Be intentional about the people we spend time with. Make a conscious effort to surround ourselves with people who are positive, uplifting, and encouraging.
- Be aware of the influence our friends have on us. If we find ourselves being drawn into negative or destructive behavior, it may be time to reevaluate our friendships.
- Be willing to walk away from toxic relationships. Sometimes, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to distance ourselves from people who are dragging us down.
Remember, the company we keep matters. Choose wisely.
