Matthew 4:18-20 KJV — “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. [19] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. [20] And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.“
The end of our calling is to become fishers of men. That is the highest calling. Healing the sick is nice but not the ultimate, casting out devils is not the ultimate, even raising the dead is not the ultiamte; fishing for men is the end of the calling. The manifestation of the spirit, and all these things are a means to an end and that end is fishing for men.
Isaiah 53:11-12 KJV — “He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. [12] Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.“
