Judges 6:1-6 KJV — And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. [2] And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.
[3] And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; [4] and they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.
[5] For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it. [6] And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.
Whether you are aware or not, whether you agree or not, whether you know or not, most patterns don’t occur by chance. There are always underlying causes that strengthen and make these patterns work.
In the text above, we understand that Israel became impoverished because of the Midianites. They came every year in the harvest season and destroyed the harvest. At the root of this pattern was the fact that Israel sinned against God. Have you observed any pattern in your life. Is there an unhealthy trend or pattern that is eating up gains in your life? This is the time to arise and deal with these negative patterns.
I decree that any negative pattern that is afflicting your life must be broken in the name of JESUS! You must be liberated and rise above the schemes of darkness in the name of Jesus! May this season of Prayer and power initiate your journey towards freedom and increase.
Today’s prayer
- Pray that God will open your eyes to see and discern every unhealthy pattern that is keeping you impoverished! Sometimes you get blinded because of your love and affection for some things or people. May you never accept unhealthy patterns in the name of Jesus Christ!
- Pray that God will reveal to you the underlying cause of these unhealthy patterns in the name of Jesus Christ! You will never grope in darkness without revelation. May your eyes and heart be enlightened to see what is behind this unhealthy patterns!
- Pray that God will empower you to rise above the fear and intimidation of darkness. You will no longer hide in caves and dens. You will arise and go in this your might!
- Pray that God will overthrow any weapon formed against you as you pray. Command any army projected against you to cause your failure and poverty to fall.
- Pray and command any Midianites sent against the HighCity to fall and fail! Pray that the HighCity shall rise above any evil power that gained access to our camp through willful sins and pride!
- Pray that God will frustrate the tokens of darkness that is plaguing you, your family and ministry. Decree now that your life is improving in the name of Jesus Christ!
- Pray and decree that growth, wealth, success and prosperity is coming to you. Pray that God will cause you to regain strength above anything fighting you. You will win over failure in the name of Jesus Christ!
