I want to speak to you today about commanding the harvest after a crisis.
[Luke 5:5 KJV] “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”.
Most often than not life is not a smooth journey upwards; there are times when it dips and at other times it rises. I wish that all of us will have a smooth sail but sometimes things just don’t go that way.
There are times when your effort will not just yield fruits. There are times when you toil so much but harvest so little to show. Peter said, “we have toiled all night and have caught nothing.” Have you toiled all year with nothing to show? Have you toiled all your life with nothing to show? I trust to say that today is the end of such a struggle. I pray that you shall see fruits this season. You will not struggle without fruits anymore. As we wait on God, we are commanding in the harvest.
As a church, sometimes the enemy succeeds in troubling us. There have been times when I have felt like a tsunami swept across the rank and file of the people, it was only by the mercies of God that I did not go down with it. I believe that you can rise after every storm and see the return of your sheaves. God can help each of us to rise after the storm when we engage the truth for change.
None of us shall engage in futile labour anymore. I pray for you that unlike Peter, you shall have a catch as you toil. When you labour you will reap. You will not miss your bumper harvest anymore.
How then do you rise after a storm? How do you command and rake in a bumper harvest after a crisis? The simple secrets for commanding the harvest after the storm are:
1. Step out of the ark in obedience:
The ark is only a shelter from the stormy blast. God never intended that you shall live or stay in the ark. The ark is a makeshift shelter, your place is in the field. You must be out there making an impact and bringing in the harvest.
This is the time to step out of the tent and begin to take action. This is not the time to stay in any ark. This is not the time to be hiding from reality. It is time to step out and be ready to start all over. As I said before, the ark was only a shelter from the stormy blast. You cannot and you should not spend all your time in it. It is time to step out and contribute to life.
2. Build an altar and offer sacrifices:
You need the blessing of the Lord to make your field yield. The first thing Noah did after stepping out of the ark was to build an altar and offer sacrifices of every clean beast. The Lord smelled the sacrifice and made a covenant with Noah. You must make a commitment to give your tithes and offerings. You ought to continue faithfully and you will prosper.
3. Till your ground diligently:
Tithes and offerings do not make you rich or prosperous. It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorrow. The blessing, however, comes upon the works of your hands and upon your field to make them fruitful. You can give and give and give and give, but you must step out into the fields to work the fields. You must till your grounds diligently. The hand of the diligent bears rule. After Noah offered the sacrifices, he stepped out to till the grounds and the fields.
4. Pray that the Lord shall send more labourers into the field:
It takes a village to raise a vision. You need quality people on your team to make you win against life. Your must pray that the Lord shall send the right kind of people to come and help the vision. The Bible tells us how all Israel came out to make David king. Pray for labourers but select people who believe in excellence and productivity.
I pray that as we wait on God you will command a bumper harvest. We work the fields of souls, we don’t just work the fields of grain. The Lord will honour your effort and increase your harvest, Amen!
Be blessed, I love you!
